     The Music Box is a home based piano studio located on Yale Road in Chilliwack Proper. The Music Box is run by Stephanie Rose Pike, a music educator of over 10 years. Stephanie's experience consists of private lessons such as those offerred at The Music Box, a conductor of jazz ensembles, to military marching bands, to contracted compositions of classical, jazz and indie musical pieces.

     The Music Box students range from beginner pianists to RCM grade 6, as personal preferance. Though primarily a piano studio,we are also qualified for vocal coaching and RCM preparation for a plethora of other instruments. Simply ask and we'll let you know what we can do for you! Students will receive instructions in nine different areas: theory, technique, repertoire, practicing, sight reading, memorization & performance, ear training & keyboard harmony, music history & appreciation, and piano literature. Lessons are given on a weekly basis and will consist of three basic areas: technique, theory and repertoire.

     For those wishing to prepare for RCM examinations, the repertoire will consist of mainly classical pieces. Otherwise, all genres apply. The Music Box prefers to instill a sense of personal creativity, enjoyment and ownership to a student's piano experience. With this, many choices of repertoire (when not preparing for examination) will be at the sole discretion of the student. Rock & roll, jazz, pop, funk or whatever your little heart can think of, we will either find the piece you wish to play or we will personally transpose an appropriate interpretation of the song based on the students' musical ability.
